Marvin Harrison Jr.'s stats wont jump off the page. With just about 1240 yards and 14 touchdowns in each of his last two seasons at Ohio State, he did not outproduce his contemporaries at the top of this draft class. With that being said, he does have just about everything else you could ask for. Size - he's 6'4. He's coming from Ohio State, where he was coached by the best receivers coach in the country in Brian Hartline. He's the son of a hall of fame wide receiver with such connections as Peyton Manning. On the field he's pretty good, too.
I'll get the few negatives out of the way. Harrison is on the thinner side - if he struggles against corners at all it's because he gets hung up on contact or gets grabbed. He also doesn't have the best hands in this class, but it's mostly a concentration drop issue. His ability to make impressive catches is not the concern. Lastly, he's not a ferocious blocker by any stretch of the imagination. I would say he is serviceable, if not below average.
For the positives - off the line, MHJ has the pacing and ability to create separation that reminds me of Davante Adams. He makes everything look so easy. He looks like he's the only one on the field the way he effortlessly creates yards of separation. His movement skills are just about as good as they get for someone who is his height. Harrison's routes are incredibly nuanced in how he uses pace and leverage to get open. He faced a ton of bracket coverage and double teams in 2023, but leaving him one on one just isn't an option. He understands coverages and is a scramble drill monster. There's really nothing he can't do.
