Audric Estime was super productive for the Fighting Irish in 2023, putting up 1341 yards and 18 touchdowns on 210 carries. He profiles as a big body who can punish defenses at the point of attack and run effectively between the tackles. He was a definitely not a huge combine winner with a terrible 4.71 40 yard dash, but that's not his game.
Estime is built like an action figure. He's very athletic and borderline nimble at his size. He will run through someone's face and has no problem hitting small creases. He navigates those tight areas well - second only to Corum among players I've watched so far in this class. He runs through arm tackles easily and while he doesn't make people miss in the open field, he is difficult to bring down. I like his patience and how he follows his blocks waiting for an opening. He even whipped out a couple of hurdles against Clemson in 2023.
Estime is capable as a receiver but doesn't have much production to show for it. I think this is something he was simply not asked to do rather than a significant weakness in his game. He is a decent pass blocker, however there are a couple embarrassing losses on tape. That being said, I see no reason why he can't develop into a top tier pass protector at the running back position. While Estime is explosive, his speed is lacking. He won around the edge for big gains on occasion in college, but I don't see that being available to him in the pros.
Even without the superstar potential, there is a still plenty of room in the NFL for a big, physical runner who can catch and protect the quarterback. Estime would be best in a team with a good downfield passing attack like Cincinatti or Dallas.
